Taking a historic object, investigating its form, and manipulating that form into something entirely new—this is the signature approach of Dutch designer Bas van Beek. At this PechaKucha-style gallery talk, peek inside the process with Juan Calvache, Chelsea Cameron, Maria Costantini, Brian Gaw, and Franklin Novo, 5 FIU architecture students taught by Van Beek and FIU architecture professor Nick Gelpi and featured in Shameless, Van Beek's immersive new Wolfsonian takeover. The team will show off the collection objects that inspired their work plus the reimagined pieces, retracing the steps they took to get from A to B.
