One way that queer people have claimed visibility, built community, and organized for action is by making zines: ephemeral, small-circulation, self-published magazines. In celebration of Pride Month, The Wolfsonian is examining zines past and present with Cristina Favretto—zinester, pioneer in zine archiving, and head of special collections at the UM Libraries. Discover the surprisingly long history of queer zines and hear from Wolfsonian education manager Zoe Welch about how the museum has empowered the next generation with zine spirit in our Zines for Progress program (Z4P). Joining this conversation is N'agelie Lazo, a former Z4P student participant who went on to lead her own zine-making project.
