When The Wolfsonian opened to the public in 1995, the collection didn't simply fill the building—it became part of it. Former Wolfsonian curator Lea Nickless and longtime exhibition designer Richard Miltner look back at 100 years of 1001 Washington Avenue, from its humble beginnings as the Washington Storage Company to its transformation into a museum. Along the way, they'll share how the building changed, how objects from the collection found a permanent place within its walls, and how those stories are shaping The Wolfsonian's planned expansion and its next 100 years. After the talk, hear more from Nickless and Miltner in Site-Seeing, a new self-guided audio tour of the building and its collection objects, debuting that weekend.

Organized with Miami Design Preservation League and presented as part of Art Deco Weekend.

$15, $10 for members and FIU faculty/students (free for Director's Circle) | Tickets
