From rare to everywhere, aluminum has come a long way. Mel Buchanan, curator of decorative arts and design at the New Orleans Museum of Art, draws from NOMA's collection to trace how this versatile material captured the imagination of 20th-century artists and designers. The result? A material that doesn't just bend the rules, but takes on new forms.

Presented as part of The Wolfsonian's Mark Mamolen program series on American homes, investigating how the design of living space powerfully expresses individual personality and social values. Organized with Miami Design Preservation League and presented as part of Art Deco Weekend.

$15, $10 for members and FIU faculty/students (free for Director's Circle) | Tickets
