The Geneva Window: A Centenary Celebration

Celebrate a treasured icon of the collection—Harry Clarke's provocative stained-glass Geneva Window—in an evening of conversation and dance held a century after its commission. The night starts with a talk by Clarke scholar Róisín Kennedy (University College Dublin), who will trace the work's creation and controversial reception to reveal the tension between state-sponsored art and creative expression. Following the talk, move through the galleries to witness Pioneer Winter Collective's this beauty that will pass, a new performance responding to the window's literary scenes and its charged interplay of beauty, desire, censorship, and impermanence.
Dr. Kennedy's talk is free with support from the Consulate General of Ireland in Miami. this beauty that will pass is a ticketed performance ($20, $10 for members, free for Director's Circle).
