Dominga's Photo Studio

The Wolfsonian–FIU @ 1001 Washington Avenue

Artist Juan Luis Matos's Dominga's Photo Studio paid tribute to studio photography and its role in documenting contemporary culture. Taking up residence in the Bridge Tender House, the storefront invited the public wanderer into the studio to take highly curated and posed portraits that were created by collaging together various images in the Wolfsonian collection. In exchange for their photograph, the sitter left with a printed portrait.
