Into the Stacks: Souvenirs

Fridge magnets, keychains, T-shirts, even foreign currency—we all search for and take home souvenirs when we travel. At the next Into the Stacks program, we're bringing out an eye-opening selection of keepsakes from the past, from world's fair trinkets to ball favors, picture postcards to matchbooks, that show how the impulse to collect and remember goes way back. Nathaniel Sandler, director of Bookleggers Library, and Luna Goldberg, Wolfsonian assistant director of education, have been hunting for souvenirs in our collection, and they'll show off their finds in an evening to remember.
Into the Stacks is presented in conjunction with Sandler's Knight Foundation-funded project, Crypt Cracking.
