You're not seeing double! Artist Barron Sherer presents his new project, Miami Story/Miami Expose, a fusion of two mid-1950s film noirs made by B-movie director Fred F. Sears. This virtual doubleheader begins at 6:30pm with a members-only online studio visit where Sherer will discuss works in progress with documentary filmmaker Billy Corben. Then the event opens up to the public at 7pm for a conversation about how Sherer unpacks the genre conventions of existing films to create transformative new work. As a special bonus, registrants will get a link in advance of the program where they can watch the full version of Miami Story/Miami Expose.

Miami Story/Miami Expose was developed with the support of the Miami Beach Film Society, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Miami Dade College's Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives, Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, Oolite Arts, and Signal Culture.

Watch the recorded talk online.
