When Mussolini invaded Ethiopia to expand the Italian empire, artists and writers played an important role in building support for colonization through material culture. Join David Rifkind, FIU associate professor of architecture and Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab faculty fellow, as he takes us through collection objects that attempted to reinforce a new image of Italian East Africa and extend Italy’s power and influence during the war.
