When an animator meets a museum, the artworks come to life! See the Wolfsonian collection through the eyes of Miami artist Leo Castañeda, creator of our most recent Art of Illumination commission, Live Inventory. In this virtual conversation with Wolfsonian digital curator Yucef Merhi, Castañeda invites you to consider decorative arts and design pieces as he does—as if they are alive with agency, personality, and charm. Learn more about Castañeda's practice bridging film, video games, and mixed media, and discover how he infused our objects with the ability to morph, twist, spin, and even walk in his new animation.
